How did you get a Yeast Infection on Your Skin
Of all the things that can happen to a person’s body in terms of medical problems a yeast infection on skin is one of the most outwardly noticeable things. Sores and redness abound for those who have the poor fortune to suffer from this problem. Similarly, problems with the body’s largest living organ that are not related to fungal difficulties, including rosacea and eczema, are equally embarrassing. These problems stem from yeast causing flare ups on the skin. Because a yeast is also a fungus, they can also come under the category of fungal infections. So many of these difficulties can actually be solved with relative ease, with quick and efficient treatment. The outbreaks are caused because they work on keratin, which is largely prevalent in the hair and nails, as well as the largest organ of the body. It is a protein which fuels the growth of such fungi. Most common amongst these things is the illness called candidiasis. This single form of fungus can create more than twenty infections. Most common amongst these is candida albicans. The candida albicans fungus lives on the surface of the human body and works in the digestive system too. It is a vital part of the body, but when combined with contact in damp, warm places in a person’s body (such as under folds of fat, the breasts, behind the legs, under the buttocks or armpits) it can produce a problem. This particular problem is called intertrigo, and causes a cheese curd like discharge when the rashing and flaking skin is broken significantly. However, that is certainly not the only one. Dermatophyte infections, as these problems can also be called, are numerous, varied and equally damaging. Worse still, they are incredibly commonplace. Medical experts believe that anywhere from 10 to 20% of people will suffer from a dermatophyte problem in their life time. They are often embarrassing and intensely painful when a sore is opened up. Previously, these difficulties were couched in jokes and innuendo. Fun was poked at those who suffered from them. But it is no laughing matter. The pain is excruciating. Those who suffer should not be made fun of but pitied for struggling under the yoke of unremitting, constant pain. It is heroic to survive such difficulties in tact and happy. Anyone is at risk of such problems. However, there are a select group of people who are more likely to suffer than others. They include people who are overweight or have diabetes, have recently taken steroids or antibiotics, or have problems with their autoimmune system because of HIV or AIDS. Moreover, people who have had a previous yeast infection on skin are more likely than most to get another problem in the same area, meaning they should be extra careful. Getting a yeast infection on skin is never exciting. Many believe that it is only women who get the yeast infection, but there are yeast infection in men as well.
