Parents Are The Best Role Models
We all are guilty of looking at other parents and making judgments on their behavior. Looking at them from the sidelines makes it easy to point fingers and compare their actions to our parenting abilities. Not everyone is perfect, even the best of us. Instead of judging other parents, remember that there is no such thing as perfect, not even from the best parents ever. Part of the realities of life is handling situations that push our buttons and wear our patience thin. These times are completely unavoidable, and will test us to the limit sometimes. Different people handle things in different ways, some good and some bad. Some people try to overcome the challenges by consciously working on controlling anger and frustration. Others on the other hand will just snap without giving any consideration to not letting the situation get the best of them. Reacting this way sets a bad example for the family to follow. It is easy to want to take the easy way out of problems. But, those who think it’s pointless to try are passing up on a great opportunity to learn and grow. Everyone is in control of their attitudes and actions. Sometimes it is hardest thing to do, especially in difficult circumstances. But it is possible to stand ground and not let the problems get the best of you. Your family deserves and needs you to be your best in hard times.
