No one can deny that when your face is smooth and zit-free life is a lot easier. For the women, it means being able to put on make-up easily and without flinching. And even without make-up and on a bad hair day, one feels nice and presentable.

Having a clean and healthy skin does not require medical treatment by professionals as most would assume. In reality, it depends on your discipline.

First of all, make sure to remove all the make-up before going to sleep. Cleaning your face before resting will assure you that you won’t be blocking your facial pores with silt, dust, and make-up for the hours you’ll be lying fast asleep. When you wake-up, your skin will be clean and refreshed, ready to face the next day.

Another tip comes from the advice of dermatologists which is to wash, tone, and moisturize the face consistently. When washing the face, think of a product that will remove dirt and oil without drying out your skin. Gentle hypoallergenic facial cleansers are great for doing this. They take off the oil but do not clog up the pores with residue.

Not all the dirt is removed after washing the face. Hence, a toner is needed to remove any that is left behind. Many toners also minimize the pores to make skin look smoother and tighter.

Once the skin is cleaned using a cleanser and a toner, you should be ready to moisturize the face to maintain its flexibility and pink complexion. However, this procedure is not recommended for people with oily skin. Avoid oil based materials for moisturizer.

If you have pimples, it would be wise to apply some salicylic acid on them. But be careful where you apply, the acid prevents pimples from spreading by taking away the fluids in the area and the scars.

Aside from pimples, you should also see to it that dead skin is exfoliated away from your face every week. When you do this, you allow the new skin cells to surface out with their pinkish radiance.
