These days especially we are all looking for ways to cut back and save a few dollars. This can be done throughout the entire year, but there are a few tips to save during the summer months.

One way is to use the old fashion way of cooling your home, the cool air through your windows or fans. If you aren’t home or if there’s cooler temperatures, no need to leave the air on. This would cut down on your bill tremendously this allowing you to save a few bucks.

It is recommended to replace air filters about every three months and those aren’t costly. This will be sure to help you save a little on the electricity or power bills.

Replacing the air filter keeps your unit from over working itself, costing you more money. A dirty filter doesn’t give off the same air flow or efficiency as a clean.

When the temperatures are rising outside, you don’t want them to rise inside as well. So instead of cooking on the stove or in the oven, try cooking outside on the grill. Cooking outside has also been found to be more energy efficient.

Another thing that can be unbearable in the summer is using the dryer for your clothes. Consider going back to the way clothes were dried before dryers existed. Hanging clothes on a line outside saves money and may dry the clothes quicker than a dryer would.

If you decide line drying isn’t your thing, most dryers have lower heat settings. Try that and that could help you cut back as well.

Lastly saving money also comes in the form of sales. Fall items will be on sale during the summer, so it’s a good idea to grab what you need now while it’s still cheap. This is a good way to plan ahead, which always saves money.

Keep this few tips in mind if you want to save on your energy bills throughout the summer.
